Skis get all the hype, which is understandable considering the number of variables you have to address—rocker, dimensions, graphics that match your outfit—but boots are arguably even more important. You can turn fatty pow skis if you’re not locked in to your boots.
One boot we’re loving, which ex-racers and agro carvers are sure to appreciate, is the Lange RS 130. Lange has revamped the stance, so it’s less racy and more upright, which our boot testers appreciated, but it still performs like a Lange: lots of steering power and edge-to-edge control. Plus, they’ve fine-tuned the fit to create a little bit more room in the toe box. More comfortable but just as high performance? Sounds good to us.
